Bill Maher Makes Racist Comment (But That's OK)

Racist epithets have long replaced bathroom and sexual epithets as the highest rung on the profanity shock scale. This is not a passing trend. It seems to be a long term trend in the English language. When you look at the worldwide body count of ethnic bigotry, this is a praiseworthy development. Unfortunately, the taboo against racism is not equally applied. Anti white racism gets a free pass far more frequently than prejudice against African Americans or Hispanics. But when Jesse Jackson admits openly to having spat into the food of white people when he worked as a waiter, or referred to New York City as "Hymietown", then he gets a pass, because that is a "reaction to oppression".

I recall a man who used to live in my neighbourhood named Israel Rosen, who was beaten into a coma in July of 1986. He was carrying a large amount of cash, none of which was taken. He was beaten into a coma with a railing torn from the stairs leading to the Kingston Avenue train station in Crown Heights, Brooklyn at around the same time Michael Griffiths was chased in front of a car that hit and killed him in Howard Beach, Queens. The Israel Rosen story was buried, while that of Michael Griffiths got round the clock coverage. The New York Times reported as follows on the disparate media treatment.

"The Hasidim said that they were concerned about the lack of publicity about the death of the Jewish man in comparison to that about the racial incident in Howard Beach, Queens, that led to the death of Michael Griffith. Mr. Griffith, a black man from Brooklyn, was struck by a car on Dec. 20 after he fled a group of white attackers, according to the police. 'Is Jewish Blood Cheaper?'

''We agree that Howard Beach is terrible,'' said Rabbi Israel Rosenfeld, the director of the Crown Heights Jewish Community Council. ''We don't condone Howard Beach, but why is Jewish blood any cheaper than black blood?''

According to the police, the victim, Israel Rosen, 49 years old, was hit over the head repeatedly with a wooden club while waiting for a train at the Kingston Avenue IRT station, at Eastern Parkway, at about 9 P.M. on July 2. His assailants, the police said, were five or six black youths, who fled without taking anything from the victim."

Ed Koch, who was mayor at the time of both racial attacks was almost completely silent about the Israel Rosen murder, despite being forthcoming in his condemnation of the Michael Griffith killing. Koch's indifference to the Rosen murder did not surprise the Jews of Crown Heights, who found him over the years of his vastly overrated mayoralty to be aloof, contemptuous and indifferent. I am proud to say that I never voted for Koch any time he ran for office.

Is there a place for racism against African Americans? If you are a liberal, rest assured that a blind eye will be turned to your racism. You can even abuse women, as long as you pay lip service to women's rights. Proof of this "licence to be a bigot" can be found in recent headlines. New York Governor David Patterson is facing a criminal investigation because of a phone call he reportedly made to the girlfriend of a top aide who had allegedly been beaten by Governor Patterson's right hand man, David Johnson. National Public Radio reports as follows.

"Paterson's political career was over well before his Friday announcement. Taking over the governorship in March 2008, following the resignation of Eliot Spitzer (involved in a prostitution scandal), his numbers have been in the toilet for months. But of all the problems he had in attempting to run for a full term, none was worse than the latest one, which involves David Johnson, a top Paterson aide. Johnson was accused back in October of violently assaulting a woman, who then was allegedly pressured by Paterson's state security detail to drop the charges; the woman even received a phone call from the governor himself the day before she was about to go to court to get a final protective order against Johnson. What the governor said to her remains in some dispute. All we know for sure is that she failed to show up at the hearing, and the charges were dismissed."

That is called "tampering with a witness". For some reason, it is the left that has been on Patterson's case about it. Normally, you can act like Bill Clinton or Ted Kennedy and all is forgiven, as long as you vote the right way. Unfortunately for David Patterson,Andrew Cuomo, anointed royalty in New York State, has indicated his desire to be governor. So now Patterson will be held to standards that should prevail in any case. It's so complicated. The Democrats are the party of the working man. But they still have royal families, like the Kennedy dynasty and now the Cuomos. It's all for our good. When you are a member of the revolutionary vanguard of the proletariat, all is forgiven. Ask Fidel and Raul Castro in Cuba. Ask Kim Jong Il, son of Kim Il Sung of North Korea.

Bill Maher of "Politically Incorrect " fame has actually scored something that is harder to get that a New York City Taxi Medallion or a permit to carry a concealed firearm in New York City. He is one of a very few people to have a Permit to Be a Racist. If you don't believe me, look at his latest musings about Tiger Woods. (What sport does he play?) When talking about the Tiger Woods Bedroom Olympics, Bill Maher reverted to plain old fashioned racist stereotype that would have done the Ku Klux Klan proud. In his comments on Tiger Woods, he stated the following.

"You want to know the surest way that you can spot a "sex addict?" He's got a penis. That's why Tiger was having sex with more women than even a black celebrity needs to have sex with, and thereby threatening to unbalance the delicate ecosystem of playas and ho's."

More than "even a black celebrity" needs to have sex with? Notice the word "needs" in conjunction with the mention of black celebrities. Does anyone remember when Jimmy the Greek, the famous sports commentator lost his job for racist comments he made about blacks being "bred " for sports?

“Black athletes are bred to be better sportsmen and to prove this we have to go all the way back to the time of civil war when owners of slaves breed their big woman so that they could have a big black child.”

Of course, Jimmy the Greek didn't have his "Permit to Be a Racist" like Bill Maher does. There is no excuse whatsoever for being a racist without a Permit to Be a Racist.

It may be a good thing to banish racism from polite company. But let's do it across the board. With average people, there is an embarassed silence and a few pained expressions to let you know you said something really awful. You ride home from the party where you put your foot in your mouth and your wife is looking out the window and isn't talking to you. But the next day, it's forgiven and forgotten. That's not the way it is now. Charles Barron can say "I want to go up to the closest white person and say: 'You can't understand this, it's a black thing' and then slap him, just for my mental health --" and nothing happens. He is still in the City Council. If he were a white guy saying that about African Americans, his career would be over.

There needs to be a strong taboo against racism. but it has to be a two way street. Because you can't have one man enter a debate with a gag while his opponent can speak freely. No one should have a permit to be a racist. Not Bill Maher. Not Jesse Jackson. No one. If we are all equal, let's all play by the same rules and pay the same penalties. Sphere: Related Content

I have been looking at some of the so called "white power-movement" and my conclusion is that they are primarily about fear! Yes, those people make hateful statments thats not nice, but their motivation seems fear-motivated. They belive that whats happening in Zimbabwe and South Africa will happen in Europe and US next.
We see white people all the time, but in reality they are some 10% of the world, can they defend against the 90% ?
